How LeapPath collects, uses, and protects your information — in compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
Last updated: October 2026
Overview
LeapPath ("we," "us," or "our") is a learning and professional development platform for Filipino virtual assistants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in connection with your use of LeapPath, and describes your rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules. By creating an account or using our platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect the information you provide directly when creating and using your account, including your name and email address, learner profile details, and the messages and questions you share in the community or through our contact and support channels. When you enroll in a paid course or program, we collect information related to your enrollment, progress, and payment. We also collect assessment submissions and the work you submit for review, along with the credentials and verification records we issue to you. We automatically collect usage data — such as the pages you visit, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address — to operate, secure, and improve the platform.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to create and manage your account, deliver course content and community access, review your practical assessments and issue certificates and verifiable credentials, process payments and provide receipts, send progress reminders and notifications about your access period, respond to your support and contact inquiries, and communicate updates about LeapPath and your learning. We may also use aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you to analyze trends and improve our programs and platform.
Assessment submissions and credentials
The practical work you submit for assessment is used to evaluate your skills and determine whether you meet the requirements for a Certificate of Completion or a LeapPath Certification. The credentials we issue — including QR-verifiable digital credentials and public verification links — may display your name, the program, credential type, status, issue date, applicable expiry date, and verified skills. You control what you share publicly; verification links are intended to confirm the authenticity of a credential you choose to present.
Email communications
We use email as our official channel for account, enrollment, and learner support, and to send you operational messages such as verification emails, assessment feedback, progress reminders, and responses to your inquiries. You may receive community and educational updates as well. You can manage your communication preferences, and you may request to stop marketing or non-essential communications at any time; we will continue to send messages required to operate your account and fulfill our obligations.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with service providers who help us operate the platform — such as hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing — under appropriate obligations to protect it. Our Navigators and reviewers may access your assessment submissions for the purpose of evaluating your work and providing feedback. We may disclose information when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LeapPath, our users, or others, in accordance with applicable Philippine law.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Verification records and issued credentials may be retained for a longer period to maintain the integrity and public verifiability of the credentials we issue. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to the records we are required to keep by law.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. These measures include access controls, encryption in transit, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify affected individuals and the National Privacy Commission where required by the Data Privacy Act in the event of a personal data breach.
Your rights under the Data Privacy Act
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have rights including the right to be informed about the processing of your personal information, to access your personal information, to object to its processing, to the correction of inaccurate or false data, to the blocking or erasure of your data, and to damages for violations of your rights. You also have the right to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details provided below.
Children's privacy
LeapPath is not directed to individuals under the age required to lawfully consent to the processing of their personal information under Philippine law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals. If you believe we have collected information from a minor in error, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date and notify you of material changes through the platform or by email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of LeapPath after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
